Located in one of the most biodiverese areas on Earth, Kapawi uses low-impact technology - such as solar power, trash management and recycling, and biodegradable soaps. Kapawi has set new standards for the ecotourism industry all over the world, and has received citations by Conservation International. The lodge has 20 individual double cabins built around a lake, each with a private bath, wide terrace and balcony. These rooms accommodate up to 50 guests at a time. They offer sun-heated showers and electricity provided by a solar panel system. |

The lodges of La Selva Jungle Lodge were built entirely out of secondary rainforest materials in a native design: rustic, authentic and comfortable. The lodge has private bungalows that are dry, cozy and immaculately clean. Each has a private bathroom, a hammock and mosquito netting over each bed. |

The Tapir Lodge is a complex composed of: two Bungalows (each with 4 comfortable and spacious double rooms), a tower (four double suites each comfortably equipped with balconies and hammocks) and a social area (including a restaurant serving delicious food, and a bar). All rooms have private bathrooms, hot water and a mosquito net over every bed. In order to avoid unnecessary disturbances to the environment, Tapir Lodge has a new solar panel system and all disposable material and garbage is packed and transported out of the reserve. Organic waste is recycled at the lodge. |
