Nazca / Arequipa (B): Flying over the Nazca Lines / Chauchilla Cemetery / Bus Nazca-Arequipa
You’ll take a flight over the Nazca Lines, an enormous network of lines in the forms of plants and animals, considered to be the largest astronomical calendar in the world. (Area = 350 km2). The figures you will see include enormous representations of a monkey, a hummingbird, a condor, and a strange creature known as the Spaceman.
Later, you will visit the pre-Inca graveyard of Chauchilla. For many years this region was looted by treasure hunters, who robbed the treasures that had been buried with the mummies for centuries. These grave robbers left behind the skeletal remains, which can be seen scattered on the ground, along human hairs, ceramic fragments and other remains dispersed on the desert surface.
In the evening, you will be transferred to the bus station to take a bus to the City of Arequipa (Crucero Service VIP). You will be met and assisted upon your arrival in the Arequipa Bus Station. Transfer to your hotel.

Private Arequipa City Tour (B)
In the afternoon, your guide will take you on a private tour of Arequipa, during which you will visit the “Andean Sanctuary Museum,” where you will find the Juanita Mummy, known also as the “Lady of Ampato.” This is the mummy of a young girl of approximately fourteen years of age, which endured in a frozen condition for over 500 years at the top of the snow-capped volcano of Ampato.
She is estimated to have died sometime between 1440 and 1450 AD. Scientists believe that she was well-nourished, and suffered no illness. She is thought to have been a human sacrifice to appease the gods of the mountain.
Afterwards, you will visit the Convent of Santa Catalina. Its gorgeous decor includes a rich collection of religious artwork and architecture from the colonial era, as well as several sites of historic note, such as The Gate, Los Naranjos cloister, the Patio of Silence, the bell tower, the church and the distinctive streets of this small “city within a city.”

Private Tour Colca (B)
In the morning you will head out of the city of Arequipa and proceed on to the small town of Chivay. Along the route, you will have the opportunity to observe breathtaking panoramic landscapes and make several stops at places of interest, such as: Pampa Cañahuas, which is home to large herds of vicuñas, alpacas and llamas, and Bofedales de Toccra, where you will see a variety of species of migratory birds. You will also visit the Volcano Overlook of Patapampa, from which you can observe the entire snow-capped Andes Mountain chain and the principal volcanoes surrounding Arequipa, such as Misti, Hualca-Hualca and Ubinas.
Upon arrival in Chivay you’ll be taken to your hotel and, in the afternoon, you’ll have the option of visiting the hot springs of Calera, to whose waters the locals attribute healing properties.

Private Tour Colca Valley / Cross of the Condor / Private car: Colca – Puno (B, L)Early in the morning, after breakfast, you’ll head towards the Cross of the Condor, to observe the depths of the Colca Canyon (the deepest canyon in the world) and appreciate the majestic flight of the Andean Condor. On this day you will also visit some of the villages of the Colca Valley, such as Yanque, Pinchillo and Maca, where you’ll learn about the villagers´ traditions and customs. In these communities you’ll observe the locals’ dress, which is composed of traditional skirts, colorful jackets and hats bordered with flowers, animals and other designs from nature.
Afterwards, you will depart from Chivay and travel by private car to the city of Puno (5 hours). On the way you’ll pass through the picturesque countryside, where many potato varieties are cultivated (potatoes originated in Peru). On the way, you’ll visit the Chullpas (Burial Structures) of Sillustani, the most important funerary site on the plain of Collao.

Private Cultural Tour / Uros Islands / the Island of Taquile (8 ½ hours tour) (B, L)
Today you’ll take a group boat tour to the Floating Islands of Uros, home of the ancient inhabitants of Lake Titicaca. This community has endured for hundreds of years, thanks to their continual renovation of the island floor with Totora reeds and mud, and their harmonious relationship with nature. You’ll observe men fishing in totora reed boats.
Afterwards, visit the Island of Taquile, whose inhabitants are known for their friendliness and for their weavings. They design mantas, chullos (earflap hats), and other articles of clothing and daily life. There, you will enjoy a typical lunch prepared by the residents of Taquile. Return by boat to Puno. Transfer to your hotel.
Enjoy a dinner on board the Coya ship, anchored in Huaje, which offers fine dining with great views of the lake. The ship was built in 1892 and began sailing on Lake Titicaca one year later. In 1986, the ship ceased navigating the lake after almost 100 years of service. It now houses an on-board restaurant.

Luxury Train Puno – Cusco (10 hours) (B, L)
This is a spectacular ten-hour train journey that climbs to over 4300m and takes you through the remote highland plains, a landscape of adobe huts, llamas and flocks of sheep flanked by snow-capped mountains. It is not just a way to get between one city and another, however: the train itself offers a unique and luxurious experience. The car is carpeted, with comfy armchairs and tables where a wonderful three course lunch is served. There is a separate bar and a viewing platform with padded seating where you can enjoy the views in the open air. For the most part you relax and enjoy the trip in tranquility, but there is a short fashion show and brief live musical interlude along the way. The train stops at La Raya, the highest point of the trip, where you’ll have a chance to disembark, stretch your legs, and take in the surroundings.

An Andean Community Experience / Ollantaytambo Fortress (B, L)
You’ll spend half a day in Umasbamba, a traditional community of the Sacred Valley that dates back to Inka times. It is surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes, mountains and is next to beautiful Lake Piuray. Their weaving techniques are some of the oldest in the Americas. The weavings are created using the same tools as their ancestors. Your half day tour may include participation in agriculture and/or assisting with animals, collecting plants and preparing dyes, a hands-on weaving demonstration, and participation in local customs.
Lunch at 3 Keros Restaurant (Gourmet Restaurant)
Your journey continues to Ollantaytambo, a Sacred Valley village that conserves the original Inca designs of old, in its double-lintel trapezoidal doors and the canals at the edges of its streets. You will head to the Temple of the Sun, pausing during your climb to view and discuss each of its agricultural terraces. You will also observe some Qolcas, or ancient storehouses for food, clothing and articles of daily life.

Tambopata (B, L, D)
After your breakfast, you’ll visit the Tres Chimbadas Oxbow Lake, a thirty minute boat ride and forty five minute hike from Posada Amazonas. Once there, you can paddle around the lake in a catamaran, searching for the family of giant river otters and other wildlife such as caiman, hoatzin and horned screamers.
Then you’ll visit the Parrot clay lick and from a blind located about twenty meters away, you will see dozens of parrots and parakeets descend to ingest the clay on a river bank. Species such as the Yellow- headed Amazon, Blue-headed Parrot and Dusky headed Parakeet descend here.
After lunch, tour the Ethno-botanical garden. A twenty minute boat ride downriver leads to a trail designed by the staff of the Centro Ñape, a communal organization that produces plant medicines and administers them to patients who frequent their clinic. They have built a plant trail to explain the different uses of selected plants.
After dinner you’ll have the option of hiking at night to look for nocturnal animals.

Private City tour of Lima / Return Home - International Flight (B)
In the morning, you will have a private vehicle and guide at your disposal. You will be accompanied to the Lima Cathedral, the main viceroyalty of Peru, which is decorated with impressive canvases of the Cusqueñan School and examples of colonial architecture; then continue to the main plaza and the Convent of San Francisco. The church facade, which has an image of the Immaculate Conception painted on it, was carved in stone and is characterized by its Corinthian columns. The catacombs, a spooky system of chambers that lies under the church, house the skeletal remains of part of the population of colonial Lima. After this you will visit the Larco Herrera Museum, which contains the largest private collection of pre-Columbian art in the world. It concentrates on the Moche Dynasty, especially on its refined ceramics, with an estimated 45,000 pieces, including incredibly fine textiles, jewelry, and stonework from several ancient cultures.
