You’ll be taken to the port of Callao, where you will take a cruiser out onto the Pacific Ocean to the Palomino Islands, the habitat of hundreds of sea lions and guano-producing birds. If you would like, you can jump into the ocean and swim with them! On this tour you may also see the famous Humboldt Penguin along with other avian species. Visit the island of San Lorenzo, where Charles Darwin carried out many of his experiments. |

Early in the morning you’ll be transferred to the Casa D’Paso Ranch where you’ll be instructed about riding safety and the route. You’ll mount up and start your tour, which passes the archaeological complex of Pachacamac, and some of Lima’s most gorgeous beaches. |

Paragliding in Costa Verde-Miraflores

In the afternoon, you will paraglide over the beautiful Costa Verde region of Lima, Peru. Paragliding flights last from 10 to 15 minutes and you will have an experienced instructor with you for the entire flight. Practicing this sport is the easiest and safest way to feel the thrill of soaring like a bird. No experience is needed. A simple safety briefing, a few steps and you’re airborne, soaring in a Paraglider. Be sure to bring your camera! |

You’ll be picked up from your Hotel and leave from Lima, very early. You will take the Pan American highway north until arriving at Km. 182 (3 hours). Then, you’ll continue onto a dirt road that crosses the lateral riverbanks of the Supe River. Re-discovered by Ruth Shady in 1994, Caral is the oldest civilization in the Americas, dating from 2700 BC. It’s 1000 years older than Machupicchu! This amazing civilization showed no sign of warfare or weapons! |

Andean Music Demonstration (2 ½ Hrs) |

In the afternoon you will have a private demonstration of Andean music, during which you will observe a variety of over 400 string, woodwind and percussion instruments from the private collection of musician and composer Kike Pinto. You will have the chance to listen to and play the many different Andean instruments, and learn about their ceremonial and traditional uses. The instruments are made of diverse materials and stylized in different forms. |

Bake your own Bread (3-4 Hrs) |

In the morning we will travel to the town of Oropesa, which lies south of Cusco. It is most famous for its bread and boasts quite a few bakeries. The great-tasting fresh bread produces a wonderful aroma, which wafts throughout the town. You can recognize the bakeries by the huge basket each of them displays outside their front door. Optionally, you can learn to bake your own bread, instructed by a local master baker. |

Orphanage of Anta (3-4 Hrs) |

Visit the Peruvian Hearts Orphanage of Anta (Hogar Mercedes de Jesus Molina, situated in Cusco-Izcuchaca) Located in the quiet Sacred Valley town of Anta, the orphanage houses approximately 18 girls from 7-18 years of age. The girls are cared for by the Sisters of Jesus Molino. Activities can include helping out at the orphanage, visiting and sharing a snack with the girls, and listening to a brief performance of traditional Peruvian songs. |

“Payment to the Earth” (3 Hrs) |

Transfer to Sacsayhuaman, where our guide will accompany you to the Temple of the Moon, where an Andean shaman will be awaiting your participation in a ceremony of “Payment to the Earth,” offering coca leaves and other items to the Mother. The coca leaves are bundled in a special packet called a K’intu. The prayers, in Quechua, will ask for the happiness and prosperity of all who are joining in. |

Weaving demonstration (1 ½ Hrs) |

You’ll have a private weaving demonstration, which will cover the weaving process from beginning to end. You’ll learn about the steps of dyeing, spinning, preparing hides, weaving and finishing the pieces. You will observe the various plants used to obtain a rainbow of subtle and gorgeous colors, and try your hand at spinning and weaving guided by a local expert. |

SACRED VALLEY

Pottery in Sacred Valley (3 Hrs) |

Your private guide will accompany you to Urubamba. There, you will receive a private demonstration on the creation of various types of pottery, using ancient techniques. You will learn about the clay and how it is obtained, and about the ceremonial and traditional uses of the various vessels. You will create your own piece, which will be presented to you in the following days, after it's been fired. |

Make your own Pizza (1 ½ Hrs) |

You will be presented with lumps of pizza dough, which you and your family will knead and toss to create a flat round surface for your pizzas. There will be a variety of usual and not-so-usual toppings, many unique to Peru, which you will use to adorn your pizzas. They will be baked in a wood oven, which imparts a wonderful flavor and, after they are cooked, participate in the best part: eating them. |

In the morning, you’ll be taken to the Ranch of the Peruvian Paso Horse in the Sacred Valley, where you will meet the horse you will be riding and after a briefing about the tour, the horses, safety and riding methods, mount up. This 2 ½ hour ride will give you the unique experience of riding the smoothest riding horse in the world in one of the most fascinating regions of the Andes, the Sacred Valley of the Incas. |

An Andean Community Experience (4 Hrs) |

You’ll spend half a day in an authentic Sacred Valley village, whose inhabitants practice the traditional arts of weaving, farming and raising livestock. This traditional community near Chinchero that dates back to Inka times. The weaving techniques practiced here are some of the oldest in the Americas. Your half-day tour may include participation in agriculture, assisting with animals, collecting plants and preparing dyes, a hands-on weaving demonstration, a brief horse ride (children), and participation in local customs. |

Rafting in the Sacred Valley of the Inkas (full day) |

In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco and taken to start your rafting adventure. You will be transferred to the river and, after a brief rafting lesson; you’ll climb aboard and start to navigate the river. During the journey you’ll pass by beautiful scenery, interspersed with adrenaline moments of Class II and III whitewater rapids. After about 2.5 hours of rafting you’ll return to your hotel. |

You will observe beautiful calcareous rock formations with underwater views of the shore, traditional homes, docks, and fisherman out for their day’s catch. |

Visit the community of Llachon, where you can observe the biodiversity of the various crops that are grown here. There are more 120 different kinds of potatoes; eight different types of ollucos (an Andean root crop); more than ten types of ocas, (Andean root crop); and more than one hundred different species of wild plants with a variety of characteristics and medicinal and alimentary uses. You will learn about the agriculture and lifestyle of this traditional Lake community. |

Chullpas of Sillustani (2 ½ Hrs) |

You will visit the Chullpas (Burial Structures) of Sillustani, the most important funerary site on the plain of Collao. These imposing round burial structures have been standing for centuries and were used to bury the most important personages of this region. They were constructed by the Aymara-speaking Colla people, who were conquered by the Inka in the fifteenth century. Some of the towers reach 40 meters high. |

Chauchilla Cemetery (3 Hrs) |

Visit the pre-Inca graveyard of Chauchilla. For many years this region was looted by treasure hunters, who ransacked the place completely, robbing the treasures that had been buried with the mummies for centuries. These grave robbers left behind the skeletal remains, which can be seen scattered on the ground. In addition to skulls and bones, you can see several centuries-old tombs, as well as long human hairs, ceramic fragments and other remains dispersed on the desert surface. |

Visit Cahuachi, which is a major ceremonial center of the Nazca civilization and consists of an enormous area of more than 370 acres. It is dominated by an amazing central pyramid and plaza. Evidence has been revealed that clearly connects the people who lived at Cahuachi with the construction of the Nazca lines. At least 5000 tombs have been identified in this region. |

You will take a dune buggy tour around the desert region of La Huacachina. During the tour you will have the opportunity to observe the interesting sand dune formations that rise from the floor of the desert. The huge white sand dunes surrounding the Huacachina Lagoon provide the perfect setting to practice one of the most popular sports in the area: Sand boarding. Sand boarding is a sport that resembles snowboarding, but takes place on dunes rather than on snowy hills. You will use a board similar to a snowboard, with both of your feet strapped into the bindings. |

You will visit the Ica wineries, where modern techniques are employed, such as the ageing of wine in oak barrels and the use of stainless steel equipment. There are also numerous artisan producers, some of which still use the ancient techniques of stomping the grapes with their feet.
