This sample luxury tour to Bolivia lets you experience the scope of Bolivian history, from the ancient remnants of the Aymara civilization to the troubled colonial past of Potosi and Sucre to the modern culture and traditions of Santa Cruz, Cochabamba and La Paz.
The Travel
Day 1: Arrival in La Paz
Welcome to Bolivia
Upon arrival in La Paz, you will be met by your Kuoda host, who will escort you to your hotel, check you in, answer any questions you may have and provide suggestions for supper
Day 2: La Paz
Tour of La Paz
Your guide will take you on a morning tour of La Paz, which will include such diverse attractions as the Plaza Murillo (with the presidential palace, national congress and metropolitan cathedral), the famous Witches´ Market (where supplies for healers are sold) and a choice of fine museums.
Day 3: La Paz to Tiahuanaco
Visit to the Cradle of American Civilization
Day three takes you to Tiahuanaco. Once the capital of a powerful civilization that flourished around 700 BC, it is considered by many to be the cradle of American civilization. You will visit the great pyramid, the Sun Gate, and the mysterious monoliths.

You will return to La Paz for further exploration of the city.
Day 4: La Paz to Potosi
Travel from La Paz to Potosi
You will take a stunning morning journey across the Bolivian Altiplano to Potosi, a former silver mining center. Stroll through the colonial center of town and imagine its 17th Century heyday.

A walk through the streets takes you back to the times of the Spanish Conquistadors. The whole city has been declared a Patrimony of Mankind by the United Nations
Day 5: Potosi
Tour of Potosi and its Silver Mines
You will take a city tour of Potosi including the world famous silver mines, from which silver was mined, exported to Spain, and used all over Europe. According to records of the time, 45,000 tons of silver were mined from Cerro Rico (“rich mountain”) between 1556 and 1783.
Day 6: Potosi to Sucre
Travel from Potosi to Sucre
After breakfast, you will travel northeast towards the judicial capital of Bolivia, Sucre. Spanish royalty and administrators of the silver trade in Potosi preferred to dwell in Sucre rather than Potosi because of its year-round temperate climate. Sucre was the capital of Bolivia until the end of the nineteenth century and is officially listed as a Monument of the Americas and also as a Patrimony of Mankind by the United Nations.

Day 7: Sucre
Tour the City of Sucre
A city tour of Sucre, the "White City," where outstanding examples of baroque art are found on nearly every corner, will take you to the Museum of La Recoleta (colonial painting and sculptures, rare gold artifacts, fascinating archeological objects) and to the Casa de la Libertad ("House of Freedom,") the most important historical monument in Bolivia, because it is the site where the declaration of Bolivia’s independence from Spain was signed in 1825.
Day 8: Sucre to Santa Cruz
Flight to Santa Cruz
In the morning, your guide will bring you to the airport for your flight to the jungle frontier town of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel, where you can spend the evening relaxing.
Day 9: Santa Cruz
Sloth Sighting in Santa Cruz
Spend the day enjoying this warm tropical town. Don't forget to look for the wild sloths in the trees above the Plaza de Armas.
Day 10: Santa Cruz to Cochabamba
Travel from Santa Cruz to Cochabamba
Your journey continues westwards and upward until you reach Cochabamba, at 2500m, in the heart of the Bolivian valleys. It is known as the “City of Eternal Spring,” because it has pleasant temperatures all year round. The Cochabamba valley has been inhabited for more than a thousand years due to its fertile productive soils and climate.

Your guide will settle you into your hotel upon your arrival.
Day 11: Cochabamba
Cristo de la Concordia
Visit Cristo de la Concordia. Located atop the San Pedro hill, it is a monumental sculpture approximately 33 meters in height. The statue is made of steel and cement and is believed to be the largest statue of Christ in the world. It surpasses the height of the Cristo Redentor statue in Brazil by a few centimeters. You can climb up or ride a cable car for a wonderful view of the valleys of Tunari and Cochabamba.

Later in the day you will visit the Plaza 14 de Setiembre in the heart of Cochabamba, before enjoying the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 12: Cochabamba to La Paz and Home
Return Home
Kuoda staff will transfer you from Cochabamba to La Paz.
At the appropriate time, your Kuoda La Paz host will take you to the airport for your international flight home.
